It’s interesting to hear what can be done on the train. I think driving even 4 miles can be cumbersome as it serves as a reminder of going somewhere you don’t want to be going.

I think France tried to reduce the number of hours in a work week to deal with unemployment. Not sure how stressful that was

Demographics are for advertising sales. Most free services (the shiny ones anyway) have an advertising business model and advertisers want to know who (gender, age, income) they will reach with their advertisement. Birthday is also very good, although not perfect, for disambiguation, and provides age.

I’m providing tech support for the 99. Linux and wifi for protesters. I also managed to get a pair of nice Zip-Tie handcuffs in NYC. An officer dropped them, and when I tried to give them back to him, he rudely ignored me. So now I have a nice set of zip-tie cuffs as a Momoent.

Let me know when occupy Paoli happens….
